Sterling is silver held to a standard, and this flogger is built to one: Black Furla cowhide, braided through with metallic silver and midnight shimmer.

Forty-nine falls are cut by hand from Furla, a soft hide with a natural grain, each half an inch wide. The handle is an eight-strand diamond braid in black, metallic silver and midnight shimmer, 25mm across, closed with black Turk's head knots overlaid in midnight shimmer and finished with a braided wrist loop. Weighted for balance before it left the bench. One of a kind. Once it goes, it is gone.

It lands broad and thuddy, the weight of the hide doing the work. Put force behind the throw and the tips answer with sting. Measured or hard, the hand decides.
