One rivulet of scarlet.

In 1850 Hawthorne stitched a scarlet letter to Hester Prynne’s dress and made red the colour of the forbidden. Bloodline is one of the two candles An Tine began with, Onyx the other.

On skin it runs deep scarlet, darkening to garnet where the layers build. The drop lands with a sharp inhale, then a slow heat spreads under the colour.

The paraffin runs viscous and sets in clean, sculptural ridges that read like brushwork. It peels away in long scarlet sheets when the scene ends.

How to Use:

Light the candle. Once the wax starts to melt around the base of the wick, tip parallel and test the first drops on your own forearm before the canvas. Avoid inverting the candle, hold parallel to the canvas and rotate in the hand to melt wax evenly. Height controls temperature. Higher is cooler, lower is hotter. Build from there, one deliberate drop at a time.

Safety:

Formulated for wax play. Keep away from eyes, face, broken skin and hair. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Trim the wick between sessions. Consent and communication before the first drop, always.

Paraffin retains heat longer than soy. Never let it pool on the skin, as pooled wax can run significantly hotter than the stated melting point and risks burns.

The red is heavily pigmented and can stain the skin lightly. It wipes off. Test a small patch first.
