Collection: Wild Game
A specimen room at the end of the corridor. Labelled drawers, a field notebook left open, hides pressed flat under glass with the animal and its country inked beneath each one.
Bison, Canada. Moose, Canada. Elk, America. Deer, New Zealand and Canada. Cape buffalo, South Africa. Kangaroo, from home.
Bison is dense and heavy, a thud that travels through the muscle and stays there. Deer and elk are soft and thuddy, the most sensual hides on the bench. Moose sits between them. Kangaroo is thin and some of the strongest leather you can buy, and it stings hard.
El went looking for these out of curiosity and kept going. Every hide had to be found and brought to the bench before a single fall was cut, and when one runs out, its drawer waits for the next.
Every piece is one of a kind. Lift the glass.
